Effect of Load on Wear and Friction of AlSi/MWCNT Functionally Graded Material Via Powder Metallurgy with Hot Extrusion Technique

Due to the superior mechanical and thermal properties of nanomaterials like multi-walled carbon nanotubes, aluminum alloys containing them play a significant role in aerospace automotive industries. By incorporating nanotubes by weight percentage (0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75) Aluminum silicon alloy. proper dispersion is done using ball milling equipment get bonding between Aluminium alloy with MWCNT then subsequently powder metallurgy followed extrusion technique. Wear study carried out varying load 20N 40N maintaining sliding distance constant at 1000m speed 3.14m/sec. test indicates for that wear rate reduced 46% 2-layer FGM compared AlSi-0.5WT% MWCNT, AlSi-0.25WT% 10% reduction AlSi-0.75WT% MWCNT. In case 40N, decreased 162% when 91% As increases leads decrease & nanocomposites. Optical microscopy reveal AlSi SEM analysis determine mechanism.
